It must be unnatural to be this excited about a few pinkish flowerbuds the size of pinheads. My finger lime is flowering!! Last year I was overseas and, owing to the timer being whacko on the watering system, everything got massively over-watered. And there were NO flowers. Not a one! This year, owing to water restrictions, it's massively underwatered. And yet, I have flowers!!
They're opening and growing even as I watch ... as if to try and out-do the Tahitian lime which, despite losing almost all its leaves and looking decidedly unwell, is budding like crazy (last-ditch attempt before completely snuffing it?). I re-potted the Tahitian lime this weekend and am expecting to lose some of the flowers, but it should be a much happier little citrus now.
I also put in three other midyimberries. I want buckets of those delicious little white speckled berries, dammit! Also planted capsicums, zucchini, lettuces, and beans before I ran out of seed-raising mix ...
It's the spring flush and it would seem even the natives aren't immune. The tetragon in the corner that I could have _sworn_ I killed off has leaves the size of my hand and the ones on the other side have little hard yellow flowers. The native raspberry has almost reached the top of the trellis. The native ginger has two extra stems.
And the riberry put out one extra nub.
I don't think it's really trying ...
A symbol of love! Anyone is deserving.
