... this dam. Doesn't it look all brown and cool and unimaginably inviting on this hot Canberra day? (32C. That's hot even by my standards. Esp. for October).
The contract for said dam (and the 47ha on which it lives, plus the rather nice house 5mins away) is in the post winging its way back to me for exchanging on Monday. I'll have to settle for dreaming for the moment.
Many people are very excited by the possibilities of knowing someone with a dam (and 47ha etc). At lunch today, some of the excited people and I settled on a pool pony as an acceptable housewarming present that compromises between what I _want_ (ie a horse) and what I can _afford_ (ie not a horse). Not to mention I just love the idea of having shiny plastic clean sparkly toys on a sort of dull brown dam :).
C. then wanted reassurance that yabbies won't nibble her toes. I can't promise that but I can bouillabaisse anything that hangs on for longer than 5mins - that should be ok, right?? (Yes, yes, I KNOW bouillabaisse is not a verb, but an extremely delicious French seafood soup thing. Into which yabbies would most definitely fit; well, in a freshwater-crustaceans-food sort of a way).
